Federal Minister for Information and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday told the media that the government bureau has affirmed two laws regarding the utilization of electronic democratic machines (EVMs) and casting ballot rights for abroad Pakistanis.
Announcing the details about the decision made during the federal cabinet meeting headed by PM Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhry said that with today’s ordinances Election commission of Pakistan will be able to use the electronic voting machines.
“The other decision taken was about the rights of overseas Pakistanis to cast the vote. He added that the legislation required to include overseas Pakistani in the elections is done by the federal cabinet. But it is totally up to the election commission to add overseas or not in the next elections.
The federal cabinet meeting also granted the facility of succession certificate to the Pakistanis living abroad.
“A supreme coordination council is also established between Pakistan and KSA to improve the bilateral ties and cooperation between the two brotherly Islamic countries.” We have also signed an MOU with Saudi authorities on Climate changes that will help Pakistani workers in the Arab country. Imran khan’s upcoming visit to the kingdom will also improve the bilateral ties, he said.
While talking about the recent national assembly election for constituency NA-249, he said that a lot of rigging carried out by PPP and PMLN. So, the is not justification for recounting (as requested by PMLN candidate Miftah Ismail). Re-polling must be done, he said.
