SLAMABAD: The general secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Farhatullah Babar said on Monday that the Pakistani Information Commission (PIC) had asked the Minister of Defense to share information on retirement benefits provided to the Chairman, Committee of Chief of Staff, chiefs. Army, Navy and Air Force, and all three-star army officers.
In a statement, Mr Babar said the PIC held that this information was a public document in terms of the Copyright Act of 2017. The commission has posted the decision on its website.
The PIC issued the order in an appeal filed by Farhatullah Babar, a former Senator, in August 2020 against the security services after it refused to share information with him about property and rights.
